Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
1. Introduction
VP Core, a product of Varsity Page, uses cookies and similar technologies to provide, secure, and improve our school athletics operations platform. This policy explains what cookies we use and why.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you use the site.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies
Required for VP Core to function properly:
- Authentication: Keep you signed in securely
- Session Management: Maintain your session across pages
- Security: Protect against unauthorized access
3.2 Preference Cookies
Remember your settings and preferences:
- Theme: Light or dark mode preference
- Display Settings: Layout and view preferences
3.3 Analytics Cookies (Marketing Site Only)
On our public marketing pages (varsitypage.com and similar unauthenticated pages — never inside the authenticated VP Core product), we use PostHog to understand how visitors use our site and to improve our marketing pages, including:
- Usage Patterns: Pages visited, referring source, and feature/CTA interactions
- Session Replay & Heatmaps: Anonymized recordings of how visitors scroll and interact with the page, used to identify confusing or high-friction areas
- Performance: Load times and error tracking
Event data is retained by PostHog for the duration set on our PostHog project (consult privacy@varsitypage.com for the current retention period). We use this data to improve our Service and do not sell it or use it for third-party advertising.
3.4 Scheduling Embed (Marketing Site Only)
Our “Book a Demo” page (/demo) embeds Google Workspace appointment scheduling — a Google-hosted booking tool — so you can schedule a live presentation. The embed loads only after you accept analytics/marketing cookies (the same choice that governs PostHog — see Section 5). Until then, the scheduler is not loaded and Google sets no cookies; you can instead open the scheduler in a new browser tab via a direct link that only navigates when you click it. Once loaded, Google may set its own cookies to operate the booking tool, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. This embed appears only on /demo, never inside the authenticated VP Core product.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by our service providers:
- Supabase: Authentication services
- Stripe: Payment processing (if applicable)
- PostHog: Marketing-site analytics, session replay, and heatmaps (see 3.3 above). PostHog only runs on our public marketing pages, never inside the authenticated VP Core product, and only after you accept or where your region’s default permits it (see Section 5).
- Google (Appointment Scheduling): Powers the booking tool embedded on our
/demopage (see 3.4 above). It loads only after you accept marketing cookies, is present nowhere else on the site, and never runs inside the authenticated VP Core product.
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. You can:
- Block all cookies (may break some functionality)
- Delete cookies after each session
- Accept cookies from specific sites only
Note: Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using VP Core.
5.1 Your Marketing-Site Cookie Choices
When you first visit our marketing pages, a cookie notice lets you choose whether analytics and scheduling cookies (PostHog analytics and the Google appointment-scheduling embed on /demo) are set:
- Visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland: analytics and scheduling cookies are off by default — no PostHog cookie, session replay, or Google scheduling embed loads until you click “Accept.”
- Visitors in the United States: analytics cookies run by default, and you may opt out at any time via “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the notice or at /privacy#do-not-sell.
- You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of any marketing page.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices change. Check this page periodically for updates.
